    White-water rafting
From the heights of the Himalayas, rivers surge down the foothills and across the plains creating some of the most scenic, exciting and challenging rafting experiences in the world. There are rivers presenting a wide range of difficulties and a selection of rafting companies offer different types of trips, from gentle drifts ideal for families, grade 2-3 rapids for first timers, or world-class raging white water for the ultimate adrenalin rush. Rafters can also choose from two-day to two-week trips that usually involve some trekking, and the options include paddling,
oaring or kayaking. Kayak clinics are also available on the Seti River. The most popular white water rafting trip from Pokhara is on the Kali Gandaki River with extreme rapids (grade 5 to 5+) and impressive scenery as the river winds its way through canyons and deep gorges.

    Trekking
Trekking is the most popular activity in Nepal and is the best way to experience the Himalayas. Most treks follow well-trodden foot trails that have been in use for hundreds of years, connecting mountain villages and hamlets. Popular treks include the Annapurna Circuit and Everest base camp, while more serious mountaineers might attempt an expedition to some of the highest peaks in the world, including Mt Everest itself. 'Teahouse' treks follow the most popular trekking routes in the entire Annapurna region, Langtang area and the Everest region, and allow walkers to make their own way from village to village, carrying minimal equipment and relying on 'teahouses' for food and accommodation. It is also possible to hire a guide and/or porters for these expeditions. Organized, all-inclusive treks include porters, guides, cooks, tents, equipment and transport.
