Location The airport is located 8km (5 miles) northwest of Berlin.
Airport News A separate terminal dedicated to Air Berlin services opened in 2007, but Tegel Airport, together with Berlin's Tempelhof facility, will close down in 2011 when all Berlin air traffic will move the redeveloped Schönefeld Airport to the south east of the city, to be known as Berlin Brandenburg International.
Transfer Between Terminals The terminals are a short walking distance apart, a lift is available for reaching the upper departures level of terminal A.
Driving Directions The airport is connected to the Berlin city motorway, the A100, and the A111 north, with well signposted exits.
Car Parking There are car parks located beneath and around the terminal; P1 (covered), P2 and PK are close to the terminal building (car park PK is for short-term parking); and P5 is for long-term parking.
Car Hire Car hire companies include Avis, Budget, Europcar, Hertz and Sixt. Facilities are located in the pavilion in front of Terminal A.
Public Transport Road: Bus: The Jet Express Bus connects TXL with Alexanderplatz, running via Unter den Linden and the city's main railway station, while bus 128, 109 and X9 run to various city locations, for connections to the city’s subway transport system and the overland S-Bahn trains. Information is available from the BVG office in the main hall of the terminal (tel: (030) 19449: website: www.bvg.de). Taxi: Taxis are readily available outside the terminal.

Airport Facilities Money and communications: The airport has banking and bureaux de change, ATMs and a post office. Wireless Internet access is available for a fee, at various locations throughout the airport. Eating and drinking: There are several cafés, restaurants and bars located throughout the terminal buildings. Shopping: There is an extensive shopping area at the airport, including duty-free in the Departures zones, and a supermarket. Luggage: A left-luggage and lost property facility is available in the main hall (tel: (030) 4101 2315), which also offers a porter service. Trolleys are available free of charge. Other facilities: There is a 24-hour first aid service and baby change facilities.
Conference and Business Facilities The airport has fax and photocopying services in VIP lounges and in the Airport Service Center (tel: (030) 4101 3434). There are seven meeting rooms available onsite, with capacity for up to 24 people (tel: (030) 4101 3316).
Facilities for Disabled Travelers Facilities for disabled travelers include ramped access, adapted toilets and wheelchair-accessible telephones. Wheelchairs are available (tel: (030) 8875 6408). Disabled car parking spaces can be found in car parks P2, P4 and P6.
